Winter on Long Island, NY

Fun Ways to Spend Winter on Long Island

This winter we are supposed to get a lot of snow. And, while that might seem like you should spend the next three months locked in your house, you don’t have to. Here are five ways to have a lot of fun during the winter on Long Island.

  • Hamptons Restaurant Week.

    • During this special week, January 21st through 28th, many upscale Hamptons restaurants offer prix-fixe menus. This means you can enjoy the gourmet you crave at a more affordable price.
  • Ice Skating.

    • Go ice skating on an outdoor rink for a fantastic winter experience. There area rinks located in both Greenport and Port Jefferson.
  • Golf.

    • If there isn’t any snow on the ground, dress warmly and take in a round of golf. There are plenty of courses to choose from all across Long Island.
  • Shopping.

    • Nothing beats the chill like finding a great deal. Bundle up and go shopping through small-town main streets or head to any of Long Island’s large indoor malls.
  • Seal Cruise.

    • Catch a glimpse of some adorable seals with a winter cruise along the harbor. Captain Lou Fleet’s cruises start December 19th and run through April.
