The Paris Motor Show tends to be a “Go big or go home” event in the automotive industry, and 2016 is shaping up to be no different. The show is held every other year and was the most popular show in 2014 with more than 1.25 million attendees. That makes the 2016 Paris Motor Show the perfect place for many automakers to unveil their latest creations. Honda was looking to one-up the competition by revealing some of the details about the new 2017 Honda Civic.
The new 2017 Honda Civic is confirmed to come in hatchback form and made its official debut at the Paris Motor Show. The five-door hatchback features two all-new turbocharged engines at launch, but the automaker plans to add a 1.6-liter four-cylinder diesel engine by the end of 2017.
The new Civic rides on a lower, lighter platform than ever before and results in increased responsiveness. The compact car features more room on the interior thanks to an increase in the wheelbase’s length.
Inside, the 2017 Honda Civic got some luxury-level treatment with increased quality. The electronic parking brake has been moved to allow for a sliding armrest and central cubby hole. The controls have been replaced by a single TFT screen that gives drivers the ability to customize what they see, ranging from fuel economy to infotainment.
Speaking of infotainment, the 2017 Civic comes with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto compatibility as well.
